Electric to Manual Transfer case swap?

I have searched and can't seem to find a definite answer to this. I have a 1996 Limited. I think my transfer case is going out. I haven't confirmed it yet but it's between it and the rear end and I think it is it. Winning noise when accelerating. Transfer case was half a quart low when I got it so signs are pointing to it. Can I swap in a manual case and driveshafts and still make the dash light and all work? Anyone done this and is that all that's involved?

You can, it depends on how good you are at wiring. You are going to need a ADD control relay, because you have 4wd ECU that needs to removed and rewired.

You can probably keep the 4WD ECU, based on a quick review of the diagrams. You have to jumper over from the transfer case 4WD switch to the connection for the 2-4 push-button, and it should all just 'work'.

You basically fool the 4WD ECU into thinking that you press the 2-4 switch when moving the lever into 4H and the shifting (what used to be done by the actuator) happens immediately.

I'm working on a replacement for the electric t-case for my Truck. It's going in a 2WD to 4WD swapped Truck, so I don't have to worry about the 4WD ECU or lights, etc. Is it a straightforward replacement? What t-cases fit? Thanks!

Shouldn't these be the same internally? I'd imagine you could swap the actuator on. The push button works so much more smoothly in all honesty.
