Electrical ...(Dash indicator lights)

New to the forum. Hope to be a long time member. If I don't sell it.

I'll try to be as specific as possible.

I bought my 1998 T4R LTD around 5 years ago, And have had a few elec. issues, but maybe more about those later.

The problem that made me google, and find/join the forum is this...

I went to the store, got out, hit the alarm, and heard the beep you hear when the door isn't shut all the way. I opened/closed all the doors multiple times without any luck. Same beeping.

So I just shut the door, and noticed the "door ajar" light was on (not bright, but dim)

Anyway I put the dome light in the "open door" position to see if it was an issue with the buttons, and it turns on/off with the door. After that, the "door ajar" light went off. So I tried to set me alarm again, and when I looked inside to make sure the "door ajar' light was off ..it was, but now the damn (small green) indicator that tells you what gear your in [PRNDH21] was on (also dim). The only way I could get all the indicator lights to stay off was to not set the alarm.

2 things that may be of consequence...The truck does have a branded title so that may be my answer right there, and it has rained a heck of a lot this week making me think water is making some kind of weak connection.

OK I rattled on enough I think. Any questions, experiences, suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you for reading...... Steve

Make sure your rear window is all the way up.

I did. Then tried to set the alarm again, looked inside to see the "door ajar" light dim again, but this time the damn alarm started to go off. I'll try again in the morning to see if anythings changed.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Update

Well it seems the issue has resolved itself for now. :)

Other issues I've had have resolved on there own before also. I hope this problem doesn't return periodically as the other electrical issues have been known to.
