Recently installed a 30 ish inch light bar, basically wired it to my fog light power source and switch. Worked great. Now I installed and hid kit and all of a sudden the light bar won't turn on. I tried an outside power source and the light bar works fine so it's just not getting power, fuses are fine as well. Any suggestions?

Your better off with a wiring harness

This may not be something you want to do because its maybe 30 minutes of extra work, but rather than wiring it to your fog lights, I think you should install a wiring harness to your battery. If you go to walmart, you can find some for 10 or 15 dollars. All you need to do is connect the positives and negatives to your battery, and then splice the negatives and positive of your light bar into the other end of the harness. Takes about 15 minutes. The only issues I've had with this are the buttons that the harness comes with.

Having to pull that button through to your driver side from your engine bay can be a pain in the ass. But once you've done that, you can actually buy some after market buttons that look like the 4runners buttons and can put that in the light socket. The only issue is, do not forget to turn the light bar off if you leave your car. Its connected to your battery so it wont turn off even if your car is off. This is the method that I've used, and Ive installed grill lights, rapter lights, underglow, and two light bars using this. I hope this helps but maybe your looking for another method.

Wiring it directly to the battery works each time, every time. Plus it's good to develop the electrical skills to crimp or solder wiring. Crimping butt connections is actually better, in many cases.
