Electrical Issue

Hey guys so I am having a weird electrical issue: last week I removed my tail lights to remove the blackout paint on them. Today I was driving home from work and a woman waved me down to tell me that my brake lights were out. Sure enough when I got home they were not working. But here's the weird thing. I put a weight on the brake pedal and the top middle light behind the spoiler lit up and all the turn signals and flashers work. The bulbs are good and they light up when the headlights are turned on. It's only when I try and brake that they fail to light up. Oh and I checked fuses, all fine. Any idea on what's going on guys? Thanks.

Another thing I don't see any bare wiring. And also I have additional lights wired up to my reverse lights but I don't think that those have anything to do with my electrical issue.

are there separate bulbs for the brake and parking lights, or is it a 2-stage bulb?

I don't think that 3rd gens have parking lights. There's three bulbs: blinker, brake, reverse. The brake lights light up when headlights are on so as to make the vehicle visible at night. Anyone have. Any ideas what might be going on? I think I might have shorted the wires out somewhere.

The bulbs are dual filament. One filament is for brakes, the other is turn/hazard/tail light. So the fact that the hazards work doesn't mean the bulbs are good, the brake filaments could be bad. Otherwise you could have a wiring problem.

figured it out.

Haha so I get now what you meant by a two stage bulb. The bulb that was in the brake light place had two prongs. What it needed was a light with four prongI had a single stage light in it. Thanks.
