I have a couple issues with my 1990 4Runner. It has the 3.0 engine in it. First one I think is the starter relay. Jump in the car no matter what time of day/night hot/cold and sometimes it will just click and then finally start. I have to keep turning the key.
The other is the big one I cannot figure out. Later in the day after the motor/everything has warmed up and I'm slowing down or take my foot off the gas, you can hear the front 4 wheel drive trying to engage. You can hear the teeth or whatever trying to catch. When you come to a stop finally, you hear a big bang and it sounds like it has gone into or out of 4 wheel drive. Now when this is happening you can shift into 4 wheel drive and it all goes away. Right before this happens you can hear under the dash by the steering wheel a bunch of clicking sounds like relays opening and closing. Any ideas or anyone else have this happen to them???
