Hey, got an unknown problem with my 4Runner-- I'm thinking it's gotta be electrical. I have several new parts that haven't given me any problems, so I have no clue what's up. I'd really appreciate any help you can offer!

BACKGROUND:
-1991 V6 4x4 Manual Tranny
-Bought used (April 2010) with approx 199k mi
-Currently 213k mi (98% hwy miles since purchase)

NEW PARTS (all done by Toyota) :
-Battery (May 2010)
-Alternator (June 2010)
-Igniter (September 2010)
-Reg. oil/filter changes

ISSUE:
Came home, parked, turned off car. Went to open door, but door was locked. (I thought, that's odd...) Clicked Unlock button-- nothing. Put key in ignition and turned to ON-- nothing. Turned key further to start car-- nothing. Tried giving it a jump off my buddy's car-- nothing.

With a brand new alternator and a battery only a few months old, and clean battery terminals, I have no clue what the problem might be. Any thoughts??

Might be a kill switch that a previous owner installed. I had a BMW that had one trip up on me. I couldn't figure it out had it towed to a mechanic and they found the damned switch.

Thanks for the heads-up. I checked all of the fuses and they all look good. Also looked for a kill switch. There were a few switches/buttons here and there but none of them did anything, including with any combination of turning the key, etc... :/

Got it running again. Still don't know what happened.

I checked every fuse, reinforced the grounding wire from the negative batt. terminal, checked and made sure the terminals were clean and tight (they were), and then intentionally created a spark w/ the positive terminal. Then voila.

Anyone able to explain this?
