elocker 1999 T4R

My 1999 SR5 lacks the elocker (they all went to the sandbox) that year.

I understand that in 4WD the front diff is locked. What about the rear?

What are my options? Find an elocker on a pick-n-pay or opt for an air-locker?

Come to think of it, Do I really need one?

Unless you are planning on doing any real wheeling the rear locker is not necessary.

Your front IFS is not locked, the diff is open. There is an automatic disconnect that eliminates the need for manual hubs. It is not however a selectable diff locker. That is a common misunderstanding.

The elockers go for about 600$ where I am at.
