I'm working on a cousin 96 4runner 5spd with elocker, the locker is not locking, when you press the diff rr button you can hear the actuator moving but locker will not lock, try driving in figure 8 forward reverse, did grey wire mod, light just keep blinking will not lock up any help, suggestion would be appreciated, thanks ahead of time.

did the motor turn when you turn off the locker? also a better way to check is to unbolt the locker from the axle, very easy to do, then try to lock and unlock it with a screw driver, sometimes the actual locker it self gets stuck. also while the motor is off the axle try to lock it and see if the motor is turning.

My old one had this problem when I first bought it. You could hear it but it wouldn't engage so I took it on a bumpy trail and sure enough it shook enough for it to engage. Never a problem locking and locking after that. Just my experience...GL

Ok guys I read and did what was done in the above post and I was able to unlock the locker after I put everything back together (even align the gear and pinion) but when I try to engage the locker same problem, still not engaging, how smooth does the rail of gear suppose to slide back and forth, does it require a little force or does it just slide easily back and forth?

it should lock and unlock pretty easy, its easy enough to do it with a screw driver, also there is a resister that purposely slow down the locker motor, because with out it the motor spins way too fast, if that resister failed it could make the motor too weak to lock and unlock the locker.
