Emergency brake

I forgot my emergency brake was engaged this morning when I left the house and after a block or two heard a loud knocking under the truck. Didn't realize it was the brake until a block or two later and then disengaged it. Thought something was caught under the truck.

Did I perhaps damage anything by doing this? Should I get it inspected?

I did the same thing last week and got the same slapping. The hubs and wheels were cool to the touch I disengaged it and haven't had symptoms since.

If it's still working then you didn't damage anything...except wear the e-brake shoes down a little.

Any updates or info on this? This weekend me, the wife and a few buddies went vacationing this weekend, and long story short; i engaged the brake when we got there and she had to drive(i was slightly intoxicated) to the gas station and forgot until the loud slapping occurred to let us know she forgot.... We felt awful for hurting our 4runner! :crybaby: Everything works fine now... Do i need to check something out? Long term effects to the others above? Thank you!

Never had it checked. Have had no issues.
