I guess I'm lucky- the wife shoots as much as I do (Almost) and searches ammo sales all the time sending me links to buy from.

She reloads with me too.

Any time I want to buy a new firearm, she has a rule- I have to buy at least 2 so she gets one also.

She have a like-minded single sister?! Just kidding. I'm very grateful my partner at least has tried shooting everything once. Well, everything except the ol' Mosin Nagant. That's OK by me though because I know Nika hates being held by anyone else except me. =p

My rig. Need to add a new case of water from the garage tonight. Tools, BOB. Case of Water. I have 3 days of MREs for myself and my wife in the bag. Plus everything I need for shelter, fire, water purification. Also have a large FAK in it. In my glovebox I have another more personal FAK with a fire source, and 100 rounds for my .40.

Good kits for cars, but too much for hoofing it. You need to be warm and dry and have water, or a container for water. A fire source, some food, knife and whatever else u want that can fit in a pocket. I walked and hitchhiker over a good portion of Africa, and it wasn't long before I gave away all my "essential gear". Extra socks and underwire are more important than any fancy multi tool or latest camping gadget.

Ha, Ha I know what you mean:attention: I was in a hard core scout troop as a kid and we so hard core, kids would join and then transfer to other troops that where basically baby sitting services. We used to go on a 50 mile back packing trip every summer and where taught how to live in the woods. I earned the wilderness survival merit badge as well as emergency preparedness. I earned my eagle scout rank in 2003 but with the current rate that BSA is going I doubt my son will join. It is sad to me how some "interest" groups have changed scouting into a political "awareness" agenda as opposed to teaching boys how to be self sufficient. I really hope things change but doubt they will.
 
My 50 mile badge is still on my pack in the garage. well, guess I will check my pack and find out dated Peanut Butter. 9mm is fine.

For you guys with sunnto core taste on a dad budget check out these O.T.S. T7005G on Amazon or eBay will let you enjoy the price when look them up[emoji6] of course missing barometer/altimeter and probably more functions but if you own a iPhone 6 or later version they come with built in bara metric altimeter chip that works off of gps not cellular signal so if yours is in a Lifeproof or water/weather proof case like mine and goes anywhere with you and need those functions problem solved. The OTS comes in all black face or grey face like sunnto.
