Whats Up guys/gals I traded out my EDC (every day carry) bag today and it got me wondering what others carry. This is not my 72hr/bug out bag which stays in the 4runner or on a trip in the vehicle Im going in. My previous bag was a UTG shoulder bag that served me well but I had been on the look out for a small backpack for ease of carry if I ended up walking some distance. I found the current bag at Wally world which is a inexpensive knock off of the 511 tactical bag. My wife just had our second baby christmas eve and my FJ got real cramped real fast! So my luck picked up a 08 SR5 4x4 today :bigok: So that being said I just started this for any tips or advice on what people carry in their EDC bags and 4runners.I recently traded bags again to a slimer pack all the same contents just made other bag souly medical. The new bag is a level 3 assault pack from cheaperthandirt.com Thanks for looking let me know what you think I will list contents after pics.(update pics lost from old service. Have hideaway holster with mag holder for hydration pouch in pack. Usually only carry this on planned trips away. My everyday conceal carry is a xds 45 pictures bellow with pocket contents for the day.

Here's most recent pictures of bag and contents will go through for fall clean out lol soon and will picture. Also purchased a SOG knock off of the 5:11 rush 72 pack that is a medical bag will post those up later tonight.

Nice set up Sigsense! I keep a lot more in the bug out bag in the back of the 4runner. 72hour food clothes Meds maps GPS etc... I keep pair of socks underwear and clean shirt in the edc bag just in case. Keep them coming guys!

Got a sweet solar charger from brother he picked it up at cabellas. Adding to the edc bag for in a pinch. Will charge almost anything that charges with a USB cord. iPhone iPad laptop etc...

I need to restock my MEDBAG. I usually always carry that with me.

I have a bunch of CAT tourniquets, a BP cuff, stethoscope, ENT kit, IV tubing, 18g and 20g IV needles, a Cricothyrotomy kit, at least 2L normal saline, 2L lacerated ringers, H&H gauze, combat gauze, minor surgical kit with sutures an suture needles, SAM splints, and some meds to include Tylenol, Motrin, EPIPEN.

When I wheel, I also carry what we call a truck bag. Has a collapsible stretcher and a bunch of other stuff in it.

I usually always have my tools in the back of my rig as well, to include a grinder, drill, sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, power converter, extensions, and quite possibly a 90 amp flux welder, if my power converter will support it. I also carry two 5 gal Scepter gas cans, as well as two 5 gal Scepter water cans. Yes, the military ones.

As far as a BOB, I have all sorts of gear left over, to include a sappy plate carrier, Interceptor flack jacket, Kevlar helmet, multiple poncho liners, MREs, about 2k feet of 550 chord, P-MAGS, MARPAT tarp, a few knives, flashlights, magnesium fire starter.

I have no idea what I have left to add to this list.

I do know that I need to get all this stuff together and into my place in Jacksonville.....

I'm with you I just don't feel like I can have enough in my medical bag. I thinking being a paramedic has me spoiled knowing what's out there to help with. I carry my edc bag with me in the truck or ambulance. The larger bug out bag stays in the 4runner all the time. I carry some tools tow straps 12ft tow chain sleeping bag winter gear 6 gallon water jug medical bag jumper cables air compressor too. I just feel like if your a hour from home on a work day I like to have a back up plan :boxer:

Just wondering on another note what type of food do others keep on hand for SHTF scenario?

MRE's,mountian home freeze dried, canned goods,dry foods,food gels and the like, also lots and lots of cock sauce and Tabasco..... food gels are great, very very little room and crazy amount of nutrients and calories....tastes like bug puke though.....the texture really puts me off.....for good tastes i like payday candy bars, i keep like 10 of them in my truck, haha, always tastes good and there's alot in there, and also are basically indestructible!
that said....
i'm not a prepper, but am prepared , 3 months stores that i cycle through, meaning every 3 months i go out buy all new stuff and start eating the old reserves....i mean what's the point of having all of this stuff if you don't eat it..... also isn't all of this stuff just common sense? i have a vast majority of this stuff incase i put it into a ditch or break down out on some dirt road 100 miles from the nearest town, or the power goes out or national disaster happens... i really don't get people storing food and supplies for 20+ years or some of the extremes people go to...
either way i'm in the process of putting together a much better truck bag than what i had before and am stoked for camping season just around the corner! it's tough finding medical supplies worth their salt!

wow. that EDC made me feel old but reminded me of some of the 80's spring break parties on the beach.

I have a few things in a bag but need to get a few more together. The food stuff is the hardest part for me. Trying to find stuff that I like and will last a long time. I always try to have peanut butter on hand. Those small Jiff packs are pretty handy.

One thing I might suggest is a hand crank light, radio, charging combo. I like the scorpion from Eton. Scorpion | Eton

Also, I have a couple different ways to start a fire. water proof matches, The magnesium striker, dryer lint, steel wool and 9v battery, magnifying glass built in to compass, and some small squares of tin foil to start it on, Also about a 18" tube to use to blow air into the fire while trying to start it. Thinking about getting a longer tube to double as siphon though.

Having been raised on the Gulf Coast as a kid and been through several disasters I have learned first hand how important it is to have the basics should some type of disaster occur.
