i have gone in to hi 4 alot... but it seems like when i go into lo 4 i allways grind gears.... i have gone into it once or twice but allways forget.... how do u do it exactly?
gapboi210 said:Mine is a Limited so I have the shift on the fly but I think engaging 4LOW is the same. Stop, shift into neutral, wait a few secs and then engage 4LOW. If I stop pop it in neutral and don't wait a few secs, mine will grind just a bit when engaging.
Ohio4R said:Yes he means the primary transfer case. And the shifter that goes in a straight line is the electronical type of 4wd with a button. The type you have you shift manually.
4reak said:wow, thanks guys. this really helps me out. im going to try to shift into 4LO this weekend when i have time. also, does anyone know when toyota started making the electronicly shifting 4WD, the one that shifts in a straight line? and also, when i shift into 4LO, is it true that i have to be driving in a straight line? and does it have to be while i am driving forward? because sometimes my 4HI wont engage, and so i drive in reverse for a little bit and then forward again, and it engages just fine. thanks in advance guys.
