Engaging Low Range

Can you engage low range w/o actually being in 4wd?

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I didn't think it was possible, but just wanted to ask. I've read through the t-case thread a few times, its real good, but it doesn't address the problem I'm having. My 4wd and center diff lock lights blink constantly and have for a long time. I'm just trying to narrow down the reasons.

in order to have 2L you need to convert your transfercase to twin stick. Available from Several manufacturers including Marlin Crawler, Trail-gear, sky manufacturing, Front Range off Road Fab. It is nice to be able to run in 2L for a lot of stuff. Or you can run dual Cases and run the front case in low to achieve 2L

Sorry I just read a little more and for you being fulltime 4x4 you would have to convert to a manual shift case. As for your problem it sounds like your sensor that tells the computer that your in 4x4 or Low range is not sending a signal. or the actuator isn't locking in the center diff or low range.

You would need manual locking hubs as well, no? (Keep them unlocked to be in 2L?)

Yes or do the ADD mod to be switched. But with twin stick you truly get 2L without 4x4. So on a manual t-case you just need the twin stick.
