Engine codes? MAF sensor cleaning

So last night the dreaded 3 lights came on, this morning i decided to tackle it. I reset computer 1st, the lights came on immediately. I took it to Advanced AP to have it checked. They told me the code was P11135. I did a search online for this code but haven't come across anything. Advan. A.P. said it was probably the MAF. So i took it apart when i got home, I have the one with the little amber bulb at the end of the two leads. I cleaned them ( they were filthy) . After reconnecting battery and starting, the lights were gone, but after about 3 mins, they came back.
My questions is.....has anyone gotten this code, and what worked to resolve the issue. Ive always used sterile alcohol pads to clean electrical components like this, zero residue and quick evaporation. Have done it on many cars with success but Do you think I could have damaged the sensor with the alcohol? :shrug: Thanx for any input

It's a P1135. You added an extra 1 in there. Just search that code on this site and you'll find plenty. The alcohol shouldn't have caused any problems but the application of it could have. MAF sensor cleaner is a spray which enables you to clean the delicate sensor wires without actually touching them. :cheers:

ah! wth! They wrote down the number for me. Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, as far as cleaning the sensor, I didn't touch it, just ever so carefully glided the pad over it, cleaned easily with no effort.
So after reading up on the correct code, it seems i need more info as to what bank and what sensor ? p1135 could be a lot of things it seems.

You have the 5VZ-FE right? I just looked in the FSM for a 2002 (I don't think Toyota would change the code from 2001/2002) and a P1135 is "A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction".

Yes I have 5vz-fe, I just borrowed my neighbors computer, shows 1 code, p1135, and it being 3 or 4 possibilities. It seems the most common fix from searching is to install one of these.....

Am I correct in assuming this? I know there's no guarantee, but most common cause that i can find.

Not sure if this would do anything though but try disconnecting neg on the battery and pulling the EFI fuse for a few minutes.

I got a check engine yesterday when messing with my intake (didnt scan the code) and it cleared right up after the reset.

Yeah that's the correct sensor for you and it should fix the P1135. It's almost always the A/F ratio sensor and Denso is the only brand sensor to use :cheers:
