Engine Cover Question

I have a 2005 runner se V6. Is the engine cover really necessary? I kind of want to remove it.

Dont knock the question. In theory it could insulate the intake to change the charge air temp or protect the injector wiring from the element. In my opinion tho, it is completely unnessesary, just makes the engine bay look "prettier". I personally wont remove it just because i like the way it looks and i look under the hood several times a week.

You can, doubt there'll be an ill effects other than it not looking as good.
