Engine Gasket set 5vz-fe

Any advice on a complete Engine Gasket set for a 3.4?
On GM vehicles I worked on it always seemed less expensive to purchase an entire engine gasket set rather than this gasket and that one.

There are complete gasket sets including head bolts for less than $100 on ebay. I doubt anyone would recommend Sealing Tech gaskets.

I presently have one motor out and will be pulling another one. While the engine is on a stand it seems like it would be prudent to replace some of the gaskets.

What gaskets do you suggest replacing while engine is out of vehicle on an engine stand?

Is there a gasket set you would recommend? Could you provide a link?

Any and all input is appreciated!

Thanks:)

from the little time i've been researching this site, i've come to realize that the majority is gonna tell you OEM Toyota is the only route to take. Apparently they make the holy grail of auto parts. With that said, i'd recommend OEM lol

Fel-Pro and OEM is all I have ever used and neither have failed me.

That being said, you don't need to replace EVERY gasket. You are better off replacing the worst offenders (valve covers, intake plenum, etc.) on Rockauto.com for cheap and saving some money that way. They carry Fel-Pro, so does places like NAPA. No need for all of them unless you are tearing it down all the way to the bottom end or replacing head gaskets (those are the pricey ones).

Which gaskets would you replace?

Hard to say without looking at your engine, only you can really determine that.

The most common ones are throttle body gaskets, valve cover gaskets (including spark plug hole gaskets), PCV valve grommet, and plenum gaskets. But you might need more/less depending on what you are doing.

What's more likely is that you'll need to replace cracked vacuum hoses before gaskets.
