My '01 3.4L has developed a knock when starting up in the cold(>35°F). It only lasts for a couple of seconds and goes away. That's the only time when it can be heard. The truck runs flawlessly. I just changed the oil(Castrol 5w-30) so I know it has enough oil in it. The sound is louder than a lifter or fuel injector tick. It sounds more like a rod knock or maybe a quick fit of piston slap, but only from one cylinder.
I've searched "knock" and "engine knock on start up" to no avail.
Any thoughts on this? I know the typical rod knock gets worse when the engine warms up. Poor oil pressure at start up causing a knock?
