engine knocking

hi!! i have 1993 4-runner 210000 kms when going uphill or when i press hard gas pedal engine is knocking (im usig high octane fuel,new spark plugs and wires new rotor and distributor cap :goinposta :goinposta :goinposta knock sensor out?? any sugestions?? thanx

With a high mileage vehicle, I would usually say carbon build-up, but 210 k kilometers is not enough to warrant this. I do not have your engine but if it has a ERG system, then I would suspect that. I would check to see that the ERG valve is functioning properly. This dilutes the air & fuel mixture with an inert gas. This inert exhaust gas increases the combustion temperature. Yours may be combusting at a much lower temp due to the absence of the ERG working. A broken line would be the first thing I would check for. Then a bad wire to it or the solenoid valve itself.
