Engine MODS? or not...

OK, so admittedly, my 4runner has never been "off road". I use mine mostly to haul guitars amps and audio gear from gig to gig. The most "off" mine has been is a muddy field during a festival.

That being said, I've been lurking around here for a while and been checking out the videos and pics y'all are posting of your excursions and I've been getting the itch...

Aside from the obvious suspension upgrades - are you also giving the engines more power? Especially for climbing some of those huge boulders. I can't imagine you're running stock - or are you?

I'm just curious...

Bone stock... unfortunatly, will be goin' for winterfooler and probably later, some more mods...

I have 1kz-t diesel engine... :P

Yep, most people run with stock engines. They are decent enough for what the vehicle is physically capable of doing. Having said that, many guys do the simple and basic mods like intake and exhaust systems for a little extra power, but not much.
