That is the one... And yes you can read trans temp but you have to add that to the app. Instructions are pretty straight forward.

Instructions?... I checked the torque homepage and forum and it talks all about putting formulas and translating from the xgauge data (do you have the formula?)... or did you just do this and it worked for you? Torque - add extra sensors / PIDs - YouTube

Yes the scan-guage will work if you have newer firmware on it. You need to program the "X-Guages" for them to work

Note I mentioned UltraGuage.. It doesn't read Tranny temps.

Yes, you can read tranny temp .... I had to custom code Torque for that but there are instructions on this site... and maybe by now they are included in Torque.

Well that settles it for me! ... the Torque app and bluetooth obd2 seems like the cost effective way to go... $20'ish total (for the app and bluetooth scanner) vice $160 for the scangauge.... both seem to do the same thing.

You won't be sorry. ... the Torque app is very powerful and will do more and look better than any plug in gauge... to me it doesn't matter that it only shows data when I turn on the app. I have no need for the data usually anyway but it's nice to use the app for long trips or when wheeling or just to check for codes if there's a problem.

thanks for the recommendations. I was thinking of getting scangauge and something else for monitoring but since i have the ipad i was hoping there would be an app that would do all the same on a better screen with more options. Ill try a few apps out if i can find some and see how they work.
