I have a 2004 4Runner and love it.
I also have a 2002 Acura MDX, and loved it until last week. At 86,000 miles, it was time to take the MDX in for 90K and 75K service. During inspection, they found two of the engine mounts busted. I found this puzzling. We bought the MDX brand new and my wife is the primary driver. It doesn't go off-roading, no wrecks, and no crazy driving.
My 4Runner has 32,000 miles on it, and since I'm the primary driver for it, it gets treated a little rougher (mild off-roading, pull a trailer. etc...). Just curious if I'm going to run into the same issue of engine mounts failing.
According to an Acura mechanic on the MDX msg forum, about 25% of MDXs have mounts fail by the time they reach 50K miles. That doesn't sound like Honda/Acura quality to me. Grrrr.
