Engine Question (lack of 4th and 5th gear power)

I just had a rebuilt motor installed in my 1991 v6 5pd and I still have no power in 4th and 5th gear. Anybody know what it could be the motor is literally 3 days old.

For one thing it's still tight so let it break in a little bit before romping on it. You may have issues that were not addressed by the rebuild such as insufficient fuel delivery due to a dirty fuel filter or a weak fuel pump. Did you replace the air filter element so it can breathe? Did you have the fuel injectors cleaned professionally?

Or a clogged up cat converter.

Clutches usually fail from the largest gears downward. Take a look at your prm's when in 5th...are they increasing but he power is not? Probably the clutch slipping.

With a new engine you could be overpowering a weakened clutch.

Brand New Clutch was installed, I'm getting a permit to move it tomorrow so I will fill up the tank and put some fuel additives in there, then I got to get it smogged so hopefully we will see what is up with it.....New cat and exhaust will be coming soon anyways.
