Is it better to rebuild my v6 or just replace it? Of replacing where is the best place to order one?
Just an oil leak from the valve gasket and rear main but I have 255000
How do you know it's coming from the rear main seal?
most people just get a JDM motor and swap it in.
Replace so you are back on the road, rebuild so you get the experience
Either way, spare engines make fascinating coffee tables

Let me get this straight, you are going to replace or rebuild because of a couple oil leaks? Are they really really bad oil leaks?
Even if, just fix the leaks. You can always try a stop leak product, it worked great on my ZJ.
255k miles is not that much on these engines. Unless you are having other issues, I would just fix the leaks.
A couple oil leaks? That's not a rebuild. Replace those valve cover gaskets, then do a good clean of the engine bay. You'll probably find that's all you need to do. (the valve cover gaskets leak out the back most, and make it looks like something is leaking on the back of the motor)

If it is the rear main, pull the trans and replace the seal...I'm hoping this is the case just looking for opinions incase it is the rear main.
Was thinking replace it and teach myself how to rebuild the old one.
