What'choo mean? This thread is about (engine) non-performance. Perhaps dropping Michaeladadonse (aka Botman) into the gas tank might just improve performance.

Does the battery light flicker? And does it light up at the start so you know bulb is working? Buy a bluetooth OBDII and Torque Pro app and see what the voltage is when youre driving and what codes there might be and start there.

Same thing is happening to my 2011, the ECO light starts flickering, then when I hit the brake, the dash electronics reboot. Happens after I've been driving for over an hour.

In the video you don't see the full dash reboot, but a couple of instances of a partial reboot.

Any ideas?

No stored codes, battery voltage nominal. Using a Sprint Drive device so I can check while driving. Just fine battery in green. I forgot to put that it reset the trip a/b mileage and the clocks. Today it also did it just after it started the car and put it into reverse gear having applied the brake.

Check the ground connections including the towing connector. Also check if brake bulbs are working.

Did you ever find out what was going on with this? I had a similar problem this morning on my way into the office. I'm hoping its just a loose cable, but I'm afraid it might be the alternator or the charging circuit.

I've had this exact issue (granted it was on Jeep) but it turned out to be my ground wire was loose. Whenever I hit a bump the car and all electronics would shut off for a second or two and then restart.

...Okay... I have to admit I stopped searching after Certified Pedigree Swine and started making up my own.

I'm hoping that was my issue... but the cyclical pulse of the headlights tells me I might be wrong.

Cam Position Sensor, but I'd assume you would have codes if there was a problem. If it's aggrevated by using the brakes I would have a look at the towing harness wires in the back that are easily damaged. And the brake lights. Assuming the voltage is normal and not battery or alternator.

Ah, yeah... it definitely isn't that. The cyclical dimming of the lights was definitely at regular intervals. I know the harness in the back is all good. Mine is routed through my LFD Off Road Rear Bumper, and I ensure it was all tucked away and secured when I did that.

I did go through last night and make sure that all the bolts holding on battery/alternator wiring was nice and tight. I still have the dimming, but I haven't had the issue with the brakes again. So, here's to hoping I can hold out on the alternator until I can upgrade to 270XP.

Hi Everyone. Looking for some help

2015 4runner SR5 4x4 / 65K miles / Mods: lift, Tires, roof rack

The past 5 months the trucks stereo has been rebooting every couple of weeks (stereo was replaced last Nov for the same issue). Along with the display between the tach and speedo. Now the engine started to shut off.

Engine has shut off 5 times. 3 times leaving my house / work and 2 times while driving on the street traveling around 45 mpg.

The engine shuts off and I lose all power and I just coast to a stop.Once at a stop I put the truck in park and restart it.

Ive taking to the dealer 4 times and they cannot find anything wrong (no codes / check engine light)

Im at a lost....not sure what to do at this time.

Hi. I have a 2015 SR5 4x4 and I am having this exact same issue. Any updates as to what it was? Any help is greatly appreciated.
