This has been happening sporadically recently. It happened yesterday and before that it happened a few weeks ago. When I shift into PARK, turn the key to the OFF position and remove the key, the engine stays on (with some random lights on/flashing on the dash cluster). When I re-insert the key to the ON position (while engine still running), put it in reverse or drive, then back to park, and try shutting it off it happens again - stays on. Sometimes I have to do this a few times and or drive around again, then I am able to shut off the vehicle. Anyone know why this happens or has this happened to anyone before? Is it a sign of something that needs replacing? I don't have any major mods. The only thing I can think of is I have an Accessorides remote start and a Pedal Commander (but have been using both for a while with no issues). Thanks for any input!

I'd disconnect the remote start until you resolve this issue - it is clearly suspect. In fact you may resolve the issue by disconnecting it. I'd also look at the remote start wiring paying special attention to any splices that were used to connect to the factory wiring. Hopefully you were given a wiring diagram for the remote start; that will aid in troubleshooting. If not, I'd try to get one by contacting the manufacturer. If you have a manual for the remote start unit, look for ways to disable it.
I doubt your pedal commander has anything to do with it; but it wouldn't hurt to remove it until you resolve this issue.
It's pretty common for devices that are added by splicing into factory wiring to cause issues over time. This is often caused by poor, cheap splices, poor grounding or poor workmanship. The end result can be that the problem can exist after the unit is removed because the splices remain in; or damaged the factory wiring somehow.

The only kicker is the Accessorides remote start is completely plug and play. No splicing, cutting or tapping into the factory harness.

you can pull the ignition fuse when the vehicle does that and it will shut off. could be an alternator issue. do you have any other electrical mods? I'd try and revert back to as stock as possible by turning off or disconnecting those mods and see what happens. depending on the tools you have this might be difficult to diagnose
Presumably your remote start allows you to perform the same function (press the remote start button while the vehicle is running in park then remove the key). You should be able to exit and lock the vehicle. However, if you use the key to open the door it should kill the engine. Likewise if you press the brake pedal during this sequence, or pop the hood, engine should shut off.
When this weirdness happens again, press the brake pedal. Or get out and close the door, lock it then use the key to enter. One of those should kill the engine. If they don’t that remote start safety functions are not working. That’s my guess. It’s probably at your left foot behind the kick panel or behind the panel under the steering wheel. Should be able to find this black box zip tied, unplug it’s harness. See if issue stops…
