Entune update - Pandora is gone!

i would do an aftermarket but all of the adapter plates look shitty

i miss the old days of standard basic single or double DIN slots where you didn't have to mess with ugly, obviously non-OEM adapter plates

yea.. I have an aftermarket alpine that came with the 4runner when i bought it used and it looks surprisingly OEMish..

however ive looked at carplay stereos for my 2015 camry and it just aint worth the time money and effort. You spend a pretty penny on a double DIN and then there's a ton of other things you need to buy to retain the steering wheel, the speedometer infoscreens, etc etc.. now youre up to 700 dollars.. which is still a better option than the 1500 dollar garbage entune system but still..

I may do an aftermarket headunit myself. Insane audio offers one now with GAIA built in...
but I am looking at building my own android system. Run all the apps I need off of that
offroad GPS mapping
HAM interface
OBD2 interface and readouts
dual battery monitor system

u know im just waiting for the day that someone comes up with a tablet based radio... there's lots of custom options out there but who has time for that shit

To much to run through Bluetooth. That would be something to assign some programing students for final project...lol

No doubt, which is why when any of the stupid apps go by the wayside, it leaves me a little hope entune will be taken down and something simpler for toyota to maintain, ie any of the phone screen emulators will take it's place. It would eliminate headaches for everyone from the manufacture to the end consumer once and for all.

Never used it. I just connect bluetooth then listen to spotify (premium) or podcasts.

I hate that I have to scroll through FM - AM - Pandora - Slacker - then I get to Bluetooth Audio from the steering wheel.

they are already changing on new ones, they are not going to replace hardware on old ones and have no incentive to make software changes
