Environment Protection

Do all brand-new Toyota 4Runners come with environment protection? It's the special type of paint they spray under the truck to protect it from the elements. When I bought my 05 4Runner, they said I need to have it sprayed with environment protection because it was a brand-new vehicle. The protection cost was about $300.00! I had no choice but to pay my dealer for it. I've done it with my 04 Camry SE, my 04 Rav4, and my 04 Sienna LE because they were all brand new when I purchased them. I have a feeling I've been suckered in by the dealer.

I believe that Toyota calls that "toyo-guard" and around here they charge an extra $699 for it on the sticker. Honestly it sounded like a scam to me when the salesman explained what it was and I told him I'd rather not pay for it. I was just fortunate enough to find a 4Runner that didn't have it so I could put that money towards other options.

Its a SCAM. Lustine on route 1 tried to tell me that they no longer put a rust protection under the body of new vehicles and that I should buy their rust protection. I told them that maybe I shouldn't buy the truck and they shut up about.

Yup that's where I bought my Toyotas. Grrrr....
