Equalizer Strap & Generic Soft shackles

I'm having a hard time finding an equalizer Strap in Canada. I'm wondering if I could use a tree strap as an equalizer?

Also, I've found some nicely priced generic soft shackle on eBay.
Yellow 12mm*80mm Winch Shackle Synthetic Shackle Soft Shackles for AUTO Parts | eBay
Do you think they are safe to use, or I should stay with "brand-name" (I feel they are highly overpriced).

2nd for southeast overland .Home | Southeast Overland ( Edit I just looked at Trail Toys and what their calling a soft shackle is a little different than what most other companies call a soft shackle . I might have to get one .

$70 for a short length of rope with a loop at each end?? I know it must be some kind of super strong rope or something but still. The prices on recovery ropes don't make much sense to me.

SE Overland or Trail Toys? And why? I haven't purchased either but I handled SE Overland's gear and it seems legit.
