Erasing deceleration sensor zero point values

Anyone know how to erase the zero point values (not reprogram) for our trucks' ('03-'05) deceleration and yaw sensors? I hear you can do so by getting a OBD tool to connect using CAN protocol, but is there any other way?

Disconnect the battery for 5-10minutes. After reconnecting make sure you let the vehicle relearn idle (just let it idle with no loads for a few minutes, I like 5-10 minutes just to be safe.) Then you'll have to relearn the ZPC data.

Keep in mind when we talking about "resetting the ZPC" what you're actually doing is setting the ZERO on the sensors. ZPC is literally Zero Point Calibration of the Yaw Rate and Deceleration Sensors.

Tried the battery method, no luck unfortunately. Any other ways? And is there an easy way to make an obd tool try to connect using CAN protocols?

Do you want traction on or off? If you want it off, I plug my cheap harbor freight scan tool in and it tries to use a different protocol to connect at first, which turns the traction control off. Then to turn it back on you have to jump a few pins on the OBD II connector to relearn the zeros.

That's usually what I do, but the company upgraded my scan tool (T_T). Now it goes right to ISO
