Excessive windshield chipping

Decided to RainX the windshield today, and noticed 100+ tiny chips on my windshield! I thought at first it was contamination so I claybar'd it and sure enough, tiny chips everywhere, driving at sunset made it a huge distraction as the sunlight refracted off every little chip

I never noticed it before, and there is not many chips on the fascia/hood. The only thing I could think of is a hail storm that passed through a couple weeks ago???

Anyone had issues with their windshield chipping relatively easy?

My windshield has a ton of chips but my commute runs right through a quarry site everyday so I figured I'm not helping the situation. No cracks yet though surprisingly and I'm not quite sure if its specific to the t4r but I know my wife's camaro still looks good and she takes the same route. 2 cents... Not sure if there is anything you can do to help it.

You weren't kidding, I would imagine "wear and tear" would come up in the conversation... but I have seen dealerships and manufacturers give in to keep a customer and Toyota has always been excellent about taking responsibility for their products. Might be worth a shot but all I can say is good luck, my t4r has a little more miles on it and the chips are clearly rock chips, yours appears more speckled so I guess it could be from hail or a truck spilling sand or something in front of you... Let's us know the outcome if you take it in :thanks:

Mine has done the same thing. However I bought it used and it came that way. Definitely worse than any other I have seen.
