exercising the t-case

In my 05 SR5 V6 I try to exercise the case as often as I can. While driving down the road ill engage the full-time 4wd as it seems to take the longest to engage. Low and diff lock are not bad. Now my question is, i wouldn't think it would be bad but is it not a good idea to engage full-time while backing up? It seems to take longer to engage. The reason I do it sometimes backing up is my in-laws driveway is pretty long so ill just flip the switch. It seems to engage faster while driving forward. Thanks for the help.

I personally wouldn't... But I'm not a mechanic by trade... lol. Maybe someone else can chime in on that. How are you engaging it when you are in drive? When I engage it, I make sure I'm coasting and not accelerating or hitting the brake. It usually engages within 5 seconds.

sweet thank you. I usually do engage it going forward, just once in a while going in reverse. just to be safe ill stop doing that. When i turn the dial, i stay a constant speed. Not breaking or accelerating.
