Exhaust flange part number help

Unbelievably annoying ticking rattling sound has finally crossed the threshold of being able to be ignored. This is Literally the only unnecessary noise my truck makes lol.

The culprit is the flange between where the muffler pipe connects to the y-Pipe at the spring joint.

What is the part number that should be used to replace those bolts and the gasket. I could not find a definitive answer.

Those flanges are part of the exhaust/pipes for my 06.
I would not expect Toyota to have a separate part# for just the flanges.

Aftermarket flanges should be available.

My pipes are 2 1/2 inches.

I suggest using stainless bolts from your local hardware store.

When my exhaust got dismantled, I believe there was a rotted out gasket at that location. :doh:

The Walker(?) catalog should list a part number for the gaskets.

So it appears the sound was being generated by the spring bolt- Spring, rubbing along a rusted bolt as it flexed just slightly, over bumps or under acceleration. Kind of like nails on a chalk board effect.

I used a pry bar to compress the spring joint and separate the flange slightly and loaded up the bolts and the flange with anti seize. the noise is completely gone for the last few days. This is a great temporary fix.

If it holds long enough ill re apply and save for catback. If it comes right back ill fix the flange.

i would change the gasket out and see if that helps, also new bolts. but if you want to splurge on a new exhaust, thats a good move too.

Yeah I plan too. I still haven't nailed down the correct part number so I can order it though.

Did you ever solve this? Where was the ticking noise coming from? I have a tick/rattle/click that comes and goes on my 4R. It sounds to be somewhere on the driver side anywhere from under the door column next to the driver's seat all the forward to the front wheel well area. I can't pin it down.

The sound appears after about half an hour of driving, and it begins in the 60-75mph range, usually, and that may be because if I'm driving that long I'm on the highway. After I continue driving it will still click at lower speeds as well. Dealership said they couldn't reproduce the sound, but it's definitely there.

I'm wondering if it's a gasket rotting away.

Yes I replaced the donut gasket and the spring bolt the flange shown in the picture above and it fixed it.. since them I have change the exhaust system from that point back and have not had another other issue with it. The noise is actually the spring flexing on a the rusty bolt.

FYI, I picked up these last October when I had to reconnect my stock catback to my URD Y-pipe. I just bought these from NAPA, so I paid $27.99 for the bolt/spring kit, and $13.99 for the gasket (both Bosal), but online you can find them much cheaper. I see the Bosal gasket is no longer listed, but found a FEL-PRO gasket for you as a substitute. Some folks use hi-temp exhaust gasket or sealant. Please note the one I liked hardens like a rock, so keep that in mind. Used it to temporarily patch my stock, cracked headers this weekend and so far it's holding up.

the flange that i fix is the part between part# 6 and part# 7 as shown in the picture. i had to cut the pipe so it has a space of around 4-5 inches and installed a 2 VW clamp a pipe reducer. worked great!
