Question for guys with some experience with catalysts on 1995 4 Runner w/automatic.
The engine or transmission seems to loss power around 4k rpm and will not shift like it used to. I can rarely get above 55mph with full throttle and 5 straight, flat miles of pavement in front. 2 days before the problem started I used a can of seafoam in the brake booster to clean the intake .
Any chance I burnt up or melted the catalyst? Since its not shifting right any more and seems to feel like it builds up back pressure when I get on the gas?
Other than emmissions/smog tests, is there any other problems with gutting the catalyst? It seems like it is a simple bolt on/off part.
