Exhaust Manifold Leak/Sulfur Smell.... Help...

I noticed a ticking noise coming from the drivers side engine compartment a couple weeks ago. And after a little investigation I have read that it must be an exhaust manifold leak/crack, with that being said I have also noticed that when driving with the rear window crack/down that I smell sulfur when driving. This is most likely coming from the leak/crack, correct? My real issue is that I have 110,000 miles on my 4Runner, and I am unsure id that is still covered or not. If not does anyone know how much this will roughly run me to replace on my own, and whether or not to do it myself or to take it to a shop. If there is a shop here in Colorado that someone could refer me too that would awesome. Any info is greatly appriciated. I have a 2006 V6 Limited 4X4.

The sulfur smell would be from the cat converter, not the manifold.

Yes , pvc valve is the ticking culprit ! Sulphur smell as [MENTION=1857]fourwd1[/MENTION] would be a cat , I guess it depends on how often you smell it all the time or just a few ? I get that smell sometimes in my 2 after extentded a/c use when at stop light . For sure guys have complained with rear window down but if only a bit nah !!!

I only get the smell when accelerating (like merging onto the HWY), or when really getting on it to pass. But the ticking has progressively gotten worse in the past few weeks. And it is definitely more prominent on the drivers side. I hear it at idle and at lower RPM's (900-1500) and then it goes away until about (2100-2500).

Pvc/pcv valve ! Very easy fix won't cure it totally but better ! Again do some searching all fixable . My son's 05 has 127g on it & no smell , rarely again after a/c running at light ! Cpl good write ups on it !
