Exhaust mod for clearance question

Has anybody had their exhaust modified for extra clearance at the transfer case? And have you had issues? I see reference to this on the budbuilt skids page, and I’ve done a fair amount of searching to find pics but no luck. When I look under the rig, I see how it could probably be routed around the gearbox, but I’m worried about the heat cooking the gas tank and fuel lines.

Thanks for the link, this option looks great for a cat delete. Anyone out there come up with something that remains legal for the road? I could swap this out every smog but would much rather set it and forget it. Since there doesn’t seem to be much info out there, I’ll update the thread with what I find out. I want to build a full set of skids with as much clearance as possible.

Moving the exhaust

Don't route the exhaust near the gas tank or fuel lines. They were placed on opposite sides of the drive shaft for a reason. The URD looks like a good option, along with a larger muffler and tail pipe. If you move the exhaust I think you should make new heat shields like the OEM shields, out of thin aluminum or steel sheet metal.

Unless your state has visual inspection you'll be fine ! I like how with the urd y-pipe & flowmaster super 70ii muffler it all tucks up in closer to frame & removing rear 2 cats doesn't throw code !

My state does a visual, I’m wondering what they’ll do if there are skid plates covering most of the bottom of it?

Wouldn't even venture a guess , but seem like a lotta hassle then again if they're hurting for cash ! Know cpl Cali guys change their after market intakes back in so ...... check goggle for some of those guys concerns all I can say .
