Exhaust Mod Question

So quite a while back I pulled the stock muffler and resonator and installed a flow master, sounds great and I am happy however the test of time it taking its toll and I wanted to replace everything from the cat back.

I am thinking of taking it to a muffler shop and just have them build a custom exhaust. My idea is to go from the cat back about 2ft, in to a muffler, and then about 6 inches behind the muffler just dump out using a turn down or something like that.

You see stuff like this on muscle cars and what not with true dual exhaust, I am just thinking a single but same style.

Seems like a quick and easy method, wondering if anyone has done this or any advice?

Might as well build it yourself if you're inclined. Sounds easy enough. Though I would caution that you will get some exhaust fumes in the cabin if you exit before the rear axle and have the rear glass down.

What did I just watch lol!!!!

So your saying exhaust fumes might be an issue.

Yep! There is a reason exhaust is routed out from underneath the chassis.

I had an old Mustang with turn downs before the rear-end. Idling at a stop light was a little gassy!

take a look at how mine is done in my build thread linked in my signature. since you have a body lift youre able to do the same thing. and id strongly recommend the borla muffler, its small, pretty quiet, and has a great sound. plus the way mine is routed its up high and prevents the exhaust fumes from coming in the rear window when it is down.
