exhaust muffler install question!

I recently purchased the magnaflow 18" muffler part number 11255 and I don't want to weld it on for a few reasons.. I am trying to find a sleeve clamp to put on it but i can't find any in stores where i live! So my question is... What size clamp do i need? Will this one work? NAPA AUTO PARTS | PART DETAILS

Why would you want to clamp it on? You're going to have a leak more than likely.

Well the main reason is it is cheaper.. I'm in an auto tech class and my teacher said we can't weld in the class and i like to do my own work and I don't wanna buy a welder

Who says you have to buy a welder? Just take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld it up. Should only cost about $20-$30

Well like i said I like doing my own work. And I call the only exhaust shop I know of near me quoted me $90 so I walked out...

find a similar sized pipe at the store to see what size clamp you need. .

Yeah that's a ripoff. I still wouldn't clamp it though. Go on craigslist and you'll most likely be able to find a welder in your area that will do it for a reasonable price.

Thats not a bad idea! the only other reason i have for not welding it is if i dont like the sound and decide to go with something different it just makes it easier! thanks!
