exhaust tip options

Hi all, I've had my Valor stainless tip since 2007 on my 07. I'm looking for something more aggressive looking. Anybody install a Borla intercooled tip or RBP, or any other ones besides the valor? Pics would be awesome! Thanks!

i turned my exhaust out the side. i think it looks and sounds better. then you can add an exhaust tip to it

OP, I don't have a useful answer for you sorry, but why the hell is an exhaust tip called "intercooled" That makes no sense whatsoever.

Putting a loud exhaust tip on a slow car is very ricey. I hope you are only looking for one that looks better and doesn't do anything to make the car louder.

Yes I am looking for looks only. I don't know why Borla calls it intercooled. GOOGLE it to see pics. I know all about exhausts thanks.
I have had several on my M3, 2IS, and others.

And what is a "Loud exhaust tip?" Some tips may alter the sound frequency a bit and some may use valves to "sound louder" at WOT and quieter at idle (ie older BMWs). but generally it is the Muffler that makes the exhaust louder.

Ok now lets focus on the question, thanks.

like it out the side

makes more sense when ascending/descending (fwd/rev), i've often sat at lite wondering how that tip coming straight out the back is the lowest point on 4g rear end, hmmmm......

OP - also check out the TRD tips.

For those that are curious.

Borla Intercooled Exhaust Tip...

Quote: These Borla polished stainless steel intercooled exhaust tips have cooling fins around the inside of the pipe. This cools and condenses exhaust gases, reduces backpressure, and mellows out your exhaust tone. Engineered for top performance, Borla delivers maximum low-end torque and top-end horsepower. These tips are offered in round or square outlets.

I've got a TRD Tip I haven't installed yet :P

I've been considering routing a rear axle dump exhaust, with the tip basically pointing straight down just past the rear axle, but no lower than the rear chunk. I've seen it on some other trucks before and seems like the best option for ground clearance. and I like the look of "no tip" personally.

Check out your local muffler shop. They usually have a ton of options. Here's mine.

What did you give for that one? Got my exhaust done today and they were pushing fancy tips on me and left it bare pipe straight out the back. That one was my favorite. They wanted $35 for it.

I will be cutting my reasonator off this weekend right after the rear differencial.

Hated the fugly look of the 4th gens exhaust how it hangs so low. I might be getting a cbi rear bumper so will have to cut the exhaust anyway.
