Experiance with Carsdirect.Com or on-line dealers??

Howdy

About to purchase a 4X4 '05 Sports 4Runner (salsa red-V6) and looking for tips/info on the above topic? I had a couple of decent offers from a handful of dealers but the pricing is nowhere like CarsDirect.Com.

My configured vehicle (with CD-Changer and Conveniance Package) comes down to less than $30K! Is there some hidden charges somewhere or what? It just seems too much of a good thing to pass by so I wonder why people stick to the tradional, old fashioned dealership way.

Anyway, if somebody has any reviews or experiances with a on-line dealer, please feel free to share that info.

What are dealerships pricing it at? Just email a few dealerships and don't pay anything over $200.00 over invoice. I will garrantee you will get it.

I asked the same question in a different thread and got varid responses. I got one person that said it was great and the only downside was getting someone at the dealer to help him take care of the paperwork since the salesmen wanted to stiff walk-ins. Another said they got a better quote from a dealer so they took it. You might consider searching a wider area with the online service or email a few more dealers to see to what degree their pricing is different from what you've gotten already. I'm getting ready to do this in June and would love to hear how it goes.

Toyota in Florida,

They were great, I ran a couple of Toyota dealers against each other and ended up getting mine exactely how I wanted it within a week, dealer trade, and for only 28 out the door with taxes and everything.

We got, White, 4wd, mnrf, spoiler, and the rear view mirror. Its a Sr5 V6, when its added up and I look at the sticker with all the options I paid about 7 less than what the sticker stated.

Online was the best way I've ever used, I did everything online, got all the final numbers, walked in, traded my vehicle in, and walked out within 1 1/2 hr.

It was awsome, I recommend it to all my computer savy freinds, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who's not comfortable on a computer though.

I say go for it, make sure with your salesman that everything is straight before you go in.
