Extended Warranty

Read the post directly above yours, and the post five posts above yours.

Why don't you read it. It shows an option, not necessarily the best... And then another shows outdated prices from a long time ago. Not a lot of new info here.

So allow me to rephrase the question, since you're patrolling again.

Anyone else able to chime in with other options with known deep discounts on Toyota Extended Warranties?

I bought one from Gamester's guy last week. Paid less than what is posted on the thread.

Patrolling again? Lol, I think you mean not spoon feeding again.

There are two viable options on the page before, and that happens to be what people here use. You should try them.

Let me know if you are still looking for a good deal on an extended warranty. I can PM the info.

I just received a quote from Gamester5's guy, and it was below what was posted earlier in the thread, and about $200 less than my guy quoted me (and he is usually on the lower end).

Just bought my 4runner LTD two weeks ago and dealer wanted $2,300 for a 10 year/100,000 miles toyota care extended warranty. I passed on it and they told me I could only purchase it during a new car buy, otherwise i have to get 3rd party warranty only. Can I still buy factory extended warranty? My 4runner now has 300 miles on it.

I wonder how much of that $2300 stays in the dealers pocket?

Hello Redwood,

Yes, as long as you are still under manufactures warranty you can purchase one of these Toyota Care Platinum Zero Deductible plans.

If you would like more info please send me an IM saying you want the Extended Warranty information.

So since I still have the 3 year/36,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty, I can still buy extended toyota care warranty until 2019? Also my powertrain warranty is 6 years/ 60,000 miles. I'm interested in an extended toyota care warranty but if I still have some time, I'll wait a bit just to let the basic warranty play out. Will the prices increase as time is running out for my factory warranty?

Thousands for an extended warranty on the most reliable car made???? I respectfully disagree with the logic.

My driver's door lock actuator went out twice (not warranty).

My rear passenger wheel bearing went out (wear and tear, but warranty covered it).

Like everything else, the cost justification is directly related to the cost. For full list price, I agree with you. But the dealer's cost is probably half the list, and if you can get down near that, it's more attractive.

The key is knowledge. 1) knowing it can be purchased elsewhere, 2) knowing it can be had for cheap, 3) knowing your dealer CAN sell it for less. So, you just make your new 4R purchase contingent on rolling in the EW for a good price. Negotiation 101.

Worked for me. 1/2 price. Paid me back twice over now. At the end of the day, it's just insurance.

Wow. I threw up in my throat a little when I read this. What a bald-faced lie!

Yes, as others stated you do have time. For me, getting a reasonably priced warranty locally in NJ was impossible the past 2 years. I had a warranty in my FJ Cruiser which paid for itself with just one repair after 3 years. While our cars are the best made, they do require repairs once in a while.

I pulled the trigger last week (and I still have 1 year left on my original warranty) because I found the guy that Gamester is promoting who had reasonable prices. The guy i bought my FJ Cruiser warranty from stopped selling them to out of state people, as it seems dealers got pissed off and Toyota is coming down on these dealers selling out of state.

While you can certainly wait, the risk is not that the price will go up, the risk is that you won't be able to find someone to sell you one at a reasonable price if the 2 guys in this thread stop selling out of state and none others pop up.

Good luck with your decision.

I'm picking up my 2016 Trail Premium on Saturday. They quoted me $2,400 for a 6 year, 100k platinum with no deductible.

That just shows how out of line most of these dealers are. You can get that same plan for less than 1/3 of that cost.
