Extended Warranty

Just purchased a 17 TRD OR Premium in Atlanta. Looking to buy a EW 10 year/100K mile. Dealership tells me that what they offer is "platinum" with $100 deductable an it is underwritten by Fidelity. What am I missing? How is this different from the warranty offered by Toyota with ZERO deductable for similar durations. The dealer was not really able to articulate the difference.

Any insight is much appreciated.

I used to think the extended warranty was a rip-off, then my 2014 Raptor decided to stop defrosting the rear window at 2 months past factory warranty - cha-ching - $1200 to replace the main HVAC control unit. My new T4R TRD Pro got extended coverage. Just takes 1 sensor related repair to potentially pay for the warranty these days.

That looks like a third party warranty and if it really was Platinum it wouldn't have a $100 deductible Not sure what the difference is on these but I tend to stick with the Toyota EW since it's part of the family. I had already sent you the pricing structure so you have both to compare.

Well my cuzn manages the dealership, I got a 72/72K 0 deductible for 798.$ + tax. Bumper to bumper sans consumables. I'm retired so I avg 7k a year or less.
