Extended Warranty

gamester5 would you recommend purchasing extended warranty even if the vehicle has the original warranty plus 7 year/100k certified. Is there any benefits or extra parts that are covered?

Hi Gamester5, if you have a moment could I trouble you for the EW info for an '18 Limited 4R. I appreciate the info. Thanks and have a great day!

Looking forward to my first 4Runner in the next few weeks. This is good information to have - subscribing to this thread.

Cheers,

What do you mean by 7 year 100,00 certified? is that only for powertrain? If it is the Toyota VSA EW would cover much more.

gamester5, Can you please send me EW info also? I'm getting an '18 TRD ORP w/KDSS this week and may consider the EW.

Thank you sir!

I have owned Toyota’s for a long time. Never taken a extended warranty. When I bought my 2017 TRD Pro about two months ago I decided to take the extended warranty. My wife thinks I should not have taken it. I had my reasons why. I don’t plan on trading my Pro in. Took the premium 10yr. 100,000miles. Covers pretty much everything with no deductible. Plus roadside assistance. It is also transferable incase I did decide to trade up. Also since I did not have to put much out for my Pro that was another reason. Kind of a piece of mind thing.

I really have to check on my extended warranty that I got, I didn't want it and they told me that they would give it to me at employee pricing so I agreed but completely forgot to check the price. I just signed on the dotted line and drove off.

Kind of in the same situation, just purchased a new limited this week and debating whether or not to purchase the EW. The one question that I have is that if I purchase an EW and trade in a couple of years, will I get a full refund from Toyota?

I have a 2012 Limited and also bought an extended warranty - not through the dealer, but through Toyota. Platinum Wty 7 yrs/100K, $0 deductible, roadside assistance and rental car if needed. It's transferable as well, although I'm just 10K short of 100K and am planning to keep my 4R since it's paid for now.

The ext wty has been well worth it. Has paid for driver's door lock actuator replacement, complete XREAS replacement and new rear liftgate struts. Total repairs are over $4K and the warranty cost $850. So sometimes you get lucky.

Toyotas are extremely reliable and you may never need an ext wty, but sometimes you do and in my case I'd recommend purchasing one...I would surely do it again.

Good luck!

I think you only get what is remaining to transfer. Hope this helps.

gamester5 When you get some time, can you give me info on extended warranty for a 2018 4R TRDpro. Thanks ahead of time.

gamester5 could you forward me info for a '16 TEP w/KDSS. I'm pushing 34K, and am thinking of purchasing some piece of mind.
