New member, new owner of a 2020 TRd Off Road, Non KDSS.

Dealership tried to sell me on what they called a Toyota factory extended warranty for 8 years total (inclusive of the factory 3 years). The explanation given was that the first year of Toyota's warranty was truly bumper to bumper, and the 2nd and 3rd were not. Those two years were only for defects. If I were to purchase this 8 year warranty all 8 years would in fact be like the initial years true bumper to bumper. Cost was $1995. Prorated refund available through the duration of said warranty. I didn't take him at his word. Was curious if anyone has any knowledge of this.

Is the individual on the forum selling extended warranty options selling a Toyota factory warranty? I sent a direct message but did not hear back.
 
Dealer lied (shocking), first three years of the warranty are bumper to bumper.
You can wait till the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty is up before buying the
extended warranty.

You now have a PM with several others. If I missed you hit me up again.

Like LCF said the sales guy is clueless and You can purchase the EW anytime within the 3 years 36,000 miles. Sometimes though these great deals dry up or increase in price.. and coverage mileage and time would be the same regardless of when purchased.

It's not like if you wait until the 3 years and you buy a 10 year plan, the first 3 years are still counted in the 10 year plan so realistically you are buying a 7 year plan.
