Extended Warranty

[MENTION=108754]gamester5[/MENTION] Could I get current quotes please? ‘21 S5 4x4, 17k miles currently. Probably looking at 6 yr /125k mile warranty. Ready to purchase.

And refresh my memory… the extended warranty years/mileage is based on the vehicle from 0 miles/new, NOT in addition to the factory 3 yr / 36k, correct? Thanks!

Can you provide pricing on the plantinum VSA for plans 100K and over? I don't know what mileage, # of years or deductible options are available, but any info you can provide what be appreciated!

Made a snap decision and signed up for a Platinum, 0 deduct, 7yr/100k when I picked up my 22 ORP a couple weeks ago. After reviewing some of the posts, I would greatly appreciate a PM for a 0 deduct, 10yr/100K TFS_VSA_Platinum.
 
My new 4Runner should be in by the end of the month. I am interested in an extended warranty for 10 years 125k miles. if someone can let me know the best place to get one I would appreciate the info. Thanks

Excellent advice. Almost 20 years ago I decided to purchase no extended warranties, but to put the money aside to cover them myself. I now have over $25,000 set aside and have only used $600 to cover breakage on my two 4Runners. The breakage would not have been covered anyway unless I had purchased a 10-12 year warranty. I also had one TV that went a little early and used some for that. I am way ahead not purchasing the extended warranties. For the vast majority of the time you are wasting your money. Fund yourself and save a lot of money, especially on a Toyota.

I do think Redwood was talking about a maintenance plan, not so much an extended warranty.

But they are not for everyone, and some have came out way ahead when they did purchase one and some didn't have to use it at all, it is more of a security blanket of "Just in Case".

Now if end users are paying the dealer MASSIVE marked up warranty I can see it not really balancing out but if you get a great price the piece of mind it gives people is a comforting feeling. To each their own I always say :-)
