Exterior Suggestions?

Hey guys, I've been wanting to do some things with my 4runner but I'm just not really sure what so I want some opinions and advice!

She's 2wd so I'm not gonna turn her into an offroad monster but would still like to do some basic exterior stuff. I was wanting to black the emblems..if I did that, what else? Would something like nightshade black taillight covers look dumb? Throw any ideas you can think of out there! I wanna do stuff.

You have no idea how badly I wanna lift it! Unfortunately, I'm starting college and already get around 14mpg. The dark side of having an suv.. :vader:

That's why I'm asking for advice! Didn't know if it would "accent" the emblems or not. Don't wanna thug it up haha.

^ That, plus, I think for a 2wd, you've pretty much got everything there is to get.. Externally that is.. Now some might argue that you remove the chrome brush guard/OEM Bumper, and install an OFF-Road/tougher one but then again it's a road queen and not a Crawler.

Personally, I like the way it looks, if your money is itching to be spent, I would look at what type of maintenance needs your attention.

:lol: sorry Matt, but unfortunately unless you want to purchase a TRD S/C for it, I think you are pretty much done. Of course like Gerdo suggested, lifting it but you said you don't want to further decrease what crappy MPGs you are already getting.
 
It's all good, man. Yeah, my other car is a 1.8 turbo a4 audi..so I'm used to 29mpg ish. At least now I don't feel like a princess! Do you think black emblems would look alright though? I don't wanna make it trashy..but the "Golden Mr. T package" emblems aren't really my thing haha.

Either that or remove them all together, get that clean look. Also like Clemsonfan15 suggested, clear corners. which actually might look good with all that chrome..

Hey MATT!!! ^ See what I mean :lmao:.. I think it looks good with the chrome wheels, Although, if you were to remove the brush guard, The wheels would have to go since like I said, it flows well with the guard..

Yeah, I just got this 4runner within the last two weeks and all this stuff came on it..first came the timing belt, filters, water pump, plugs, and little things like that.

So you guys say no brushguard at all? I've really been wanting to do the clear lenses! I *love* the look of them. Great ideas, Clemson! I like it. and B5 or B6? That for me or Clemson? haha.

Say the brushguard goes, what wheels/color would you guys suggest? I wanna have the fog lights though..I've enjoyed those! Better place to mount them?

B5 or B6? meaning what year Audi A4 do you have? B5= 1996-2001 B6=2002-2005..

So do you mean you had to to the TB/WP on your T4R? or did the PO have it done for you?

PS: Yes, clear corners would look BA!!

OH, my bad haha. It's a White 2001 a4. I've loved it! The space and low riding got to be trouble though.

I had the tb/wp done at my mechanic. I really don't know all that much about cars yet..This 4runner kinda marks the start of learning. I just know the basics like changing some fluids and simple things like that.
 
I'd say ditch the chrome brush guard and tail light guards.Sell those rims and look for a set of the Tundra rims and new tires. Clemson has them on a similar looking rig and they look damn sharp.

I know you are looking for a little outside looks but you could always go with the clear corners and fogs, one of those new Burtman spoilers, some led brake lights corners etc, From there I would do a few things to boost your MPGs, 14... wow.

Maybe some stereo mods. Make sure you keep it hidden, nobody likes having their system jacked.

Oh yeah, just a real simple addition, but think about adding an exhaust tip. I think the stock exhaust looks incomplete. A shop can do it cheap, ~$30.

Yeah, I know right! I figured I would get a bit better..maybe I'm just not averaging it out right? What size tank does a 4runner have? I don't wanna say it at the risk of being wrong haha
