New to the forum and need help with my 03' Limited 4runner. About a month ago when I hit the NAVI button the screen displayed the message "External System Not Connected" Did a google search and found that I may be able to solder the connections and fix my problem. Couldn't find any tutorials on how to go about it though. Any one else have this issue and able to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the access panel over the passenger rear fender well? is there a silver box with a DVD slot? if not the Navi brain box has been removed... it will not work unless this is installed. I have looked them up on eBay and craigslist, they go for $500... and a new one from the Stealership is 1K. it is better to replace it with a new HU that has Navi built in. I will be doing this shortly. I caught it before I left the dealership and had them pull $500 off the price.
