Anyone try installing extra batteries on a 03/04 model? I'm planning on adding at least 2 additional batteries, but only found 1 spot for an extra battery under the hood (near the passenger side). I definitely don't want to add any on rear of the car. Anyone know of any other spots besides the cargo area?

I just installed a 2nd batty under the hood on the passenger side, and it gets me enough amp hours to run a ham radio, chargers, and ARB fridge but there are times I want more run time for extended runtime.
Since there isn't really a good place for a 2nd house battery, I ended up with two different solutions that work pretty well.
1. I use a MPPT solar charge controller and a 60w folding panel which is all stored in the back in one of those compartments.
2. (And or) I have a 3rd battery box which Anderson Powerpoles which connect in parallel to the house battery circuit. I can actually plug this in a few different places, but I generally keep it in the cargo area.
The 3rd option, which I dont have yet, is to add another bank in a trailer.

I should have mentioned... if you dont mind having a removable 3rd cell, this is a solid way to add that 3rd battery...

Instead of making the 3rd battery wired in parallel, you can add it as a House Battery #2 and use it only for critical loads... like a fridge.
The main house battery will continue running all the items including sending power to the above unit. When the LVD kicks in for the house battery, the unit will use its connected 3rd battery to take over duty to whatever is connected to that.
Hopefully that makes sense.
