Factory Diff Gear Ratio

I'm new to the forum. I have a 97 2wd 4runner with the 2.7 motor and manual tranny. I'm coming from a Jeep background and I'm wondering what the gear ratio is in my rear diff. Also, if I put 31's on it, what is a good gear ratio to bring it back to close to stock performance? Thanks for any help that anyone provides.

Here's the bottom line though... You have to check for yourself by doing the spin test if you really want to know. Search for spin test, it is described many places here. It is simple and pretty much foolproof.

Don't believe any tables or charts anyone might post here telling you what you have, and don't believe anyone that correlates your vin/frame code/axle code/etc... to a gear ratio. You really do need to check. There are some rules we have figured out that seem pretty accurate, but even then, it is way easier and 100% accurate to do the spin test.

You either have 3.90's or 4.10's.

V6 auto w/ tow package had 4.30's.

My V6 auto w/ tow package had 4.10s. AFAIK, the only 3rd gens that came with 4.30s are elocked ones.
