Wasn't trying to be a douche....I was just implying that you had the same reservations about the longevity of the o-rings I do, so you changed 'em out.
And IMO, that's the biggest downside of the ARB.....real or imagined (and admittedly, in my case, it's largely imagined)....there's that nagging thought about what if it doesn't work b/c of an air leak problem?
Again, not saying that they are unreliable in the least....but there's more to be concerned about with one than other options....and each option has its own set of pros and cons.
My commentary wasn't meant to be an attack on selectables....they are good pieces of kit. I particularly like the competition Zip Locker whose default is the locked rather than the open position....but that could be really bad on something other than a trail only rig. Air actuated lockers just require you to carry a few more sensible parts and back up systems to make sure it's always going to work....which is a fair trade off for having open diffs on the road and the ability to turn them off on the trail to aid in steering, front digs, etc. Nothing wrong with that extra bit of parts/redundancy....just have to plan accordingly.
And....it all depends on what we're talking in terms of the primary use of the vehicle too....a non-comp rig with full hydro generally won't care about being able to unlock the front axle to steer tighter and the bigger the tire, the less you notice any handling quirks induced by an automatic locker....so selectables definitely have their place and are better in some ways than autos for some applications in spite of their increased complexity.
