Factory fog light issue / replacement?

Vehicle - 2016 TRD Pro
Factory installed 2-in-1 LED projector fog lights with LED DRL

My fog lights stopped working this morning, but my DRL portion was fine. Checked the fuse and it was popped, replaced it and as soon as I turned the main fogs on the driver side fog light started smoking and smelling weird....so my assumption is it's blown.

That being said, I like the factory upgraded LED projector fogs, but is there a better replacement for the factory ones? I assume the factory ones aren't cheap, so it may just be worth it to replace both of them with aftermarket.

I would like to use existing wiring if possible, is there anything out there that's an easy drop in replacement?

I replaced my halogen factory fogs with LEDs' and never had to look back! Here's the purchase info: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017UWKQU4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They definitely improve visibility, a wide choice of colors, and the price is (IMHO) negligible @$29.99! Been in for several yrs and never been 'FLASHED' because of the glare factor into on-coming traffic ...and here's a pic of the product:



Oh... and NO WIRING CHANGES, the harness plugs right into the factory fog-light harness! Hope this helps, 'Best to you',

You say a wide choice of colors, but I could only find white on Amazon and the LED Import USA site? No yellow?

...Sorry to be misleading Salvo Jimmy,

by color I was referring to the Thermodynamic scale as in "Kelvin" or K thermal color; this is how light colors are rated, see example below>>>

Mine is 6000K, with a pale Ice Blue hue in character!

I thought that might be the case but wanted to be sure. I’m looking for a reasonably priced ($50-60 or less for a pair) for a good yellow for better visibility in fog, snow, rain, smoke, etc. Not interested in a “look” or spending $150+.

Yellow is a color on the same scale, yellow fogs are usually about 2700K.

It looks like those are only 6000K and not multiple colors. 6000K is blue-white (which isnt great for fog lights IMO because of how blue light is perceived in your eye)

They are not OEM, dealer installed as a selling point. Bring it back, you're under warranty. Dealer has to cover anything aftermarket that was on it when you bought it just the same as they do if it was OEM factory installed.

Wrong.
The Auer 2-in-1 LED DRL are OEM.
I ordered them in my '18 TRD ORP as a port installed option, so they are on the sticker for my 4Runner.

If he had them installed by the dealer when he bought the vehicle, they are still an OEM install, as they have the Toyota PN.

OP: call the dealership, as they are covered by your 3/36k warranty.

southeast toyota is actually one of the distributors in the US, not manufacturer. southeast toyota is who invented the XP package, these lights are not anymore oem than the billet XP grill was.

for example:

go to packages - XP Gunner and XP Predator aren't toyota packages, they are southeast toyota
go to accessories - the Gunner wheels are not toyota, they are southeast toyota. the 2-in-1 LED lights are not toyota they are southeast toyota (made by auer, with packaging for southeast toyota)

By your logic, nothing on the Pro is 'OEM'. Not the wheels, tires, roof rack, suspension, badging, Toyota garnish bar, or the upper grill. Same with the wheels, tires, badging, and roof racks on TRD OR models, or the SR5, as the wheels, tires, and roof rack are all port installed.
And I guess my rear slider isn't 'OEM' either, right?

Oh, last I checked, SET is a factory Toyota distributor, so anything they offer as a package or accessory is covered by the Toyota factory warranty, whether it's port installed or dealer installed, so that is OEM.

i think the TRD is actually port installed from toyota (not positive, but i assume so since it exists outside of southeast and gulf states), i.e. the original manufacturer

the fog lights are definitely from the distributor, i.e. not the original manufacturer

OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer, and is used to describe parts made for the manufacturer (i.e. parts that are originally made for the manufacturer to install, for example the OEM battery is by panasonic). Since these fog lights were not made for toyota they are not OEM.

Funny, but if you go to Toyota.com, and build a 4Runner, you can order it with the 2-in-1 LED DRL/Fog lamps, which is option code LD401, as verified by my window sticker. Not as a dealer installed option. You can also order it with the Gunner Wheels port installed, the Predator bars port installed, and all kinds of other goodies.
That makes them OEM.
If it's available as a port installed option, it's OEM.
Especially since it will have a factory option code.

You should go to Toyota.com and check it out. You might learn something.
But I doubt it.

that's actually southeast toyota's (i.e. the distributor's) website chief, i posted the link above

southeast and gulf states are private distributors

try this- go to toyota.com again and select build but then use a zip code outside of the southeast
